Psychology is an interdisciplinary field that will give you tools to be able to continue in an academic career doing research or go into an applied field. I did my undergraduate degree in Psychology and became interested the biological basis of behavior. After I completed my undergraduate degree, I went onto a PhD in Neuroscience, specifically Neurobiology, where I focused on understanding the biological basis of cognitive changes in the aging brain and how we can prevent them from happening. In Bilkent University we have a variety of research being performed across the Cognitive, Developmental, Social, and Biological domains of Psychology. Our students have gone on to careers in academic research as well as pursuing careers in industry. I hope that you will find the area of Psychology that interests you and that you will be as excited as I am about the importance of this field for understanding human behavior.
