To celebrate, the brand is launching a set of new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak replica watch chronometers with bicolour dials, inspired by a 2008 design, and a handful of subtle aesthetic changes. Here’s a look at the watches, which we discovered this week at SIHH 2017.
His dials recall ancient examples from the 1930s to the 1960s, with subdial colors that contrast the color of the main dials. The new Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watches include four versions in pink gold, available in a pink gold bracelet or crocodile strap and with a selection of brown or blue dials adorned with the “Grand Tapisserie” motif which is a hallmark of the Royal Collection of oak. The steel versions of the watch are offered with a choice of “Grande Tapisserie” dials in black, silver or blue and equipped with stainless steel bracelets.
The watches contain all the Audemars Piguet Caliber 2385, an automatic movement with 37 jewels, a frequency of 21,600 vph, and a minimum of 40 hours of power reserve when totally rolled up. The cases have sapphire crystals and screwed crowns that help ensure their resistance to water of 50 meters. Bracelets and straps (the latest of which are made of “large square-scale” alligator leather) are attached with AP folding clasps.
